As we close out Women's History Month
Woman, this one's for you!
First, let’s take a moment to admire what it is to be a woman. Within the household, we cook, clean, nurture and discipline. Within our marriages and relationships, we support, guide and love relentlessly. Within our workspaces, we lead, create and develop with courage and bravery repeatedly.
And we do this all with style, class and of course a little bit of sass.
We are the backbone of the nation. The bearers or carriers of the next generation. And we provide structure, give meaning and create spaces of warmth and care.
But, let’s be honest. Being a woman has not always been easy. We have faced abuse and harassment in our homes and workplaces, bias in employment opportunities, and limitations in education.
Women have been described as unqualified, unintelligent, and unworthy. We have been discounted, forgotten and undervalued. But in the midst of all the inaccuracy, we have proven to be strong, resilient and powerful.
Do we have flaws?… of course! But our qualities make us incomparable.
Women like Susan B. Anthony, Diane Nash, and Kamala Harris, who have forever affected and adjusted the field of politics.
Women like Tiffany Dufu, Carolina Contreras (Miss Rizos), Arriana Huffington, or Mellody Hobson who have changed the game for women in work and entrepreneurial spaces.
And women like you and me who are diligent in our purposes, passions and callings. Women who fully embrace the things that make us different and empower others to do the same.
So as we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, this month and throughout this year, let’s hold tight to these affirmations and use them when we need a reminder of just how great we are!
I am strong.
I am courageous.
I am powerful.
I am confident.
I am free.
I lead others in a positive direction.
I am a fighter.
I am a warrior.
I am financially stable.
I am indispensable.
I can do anything and everything I set my mind to.
There is nothing that excites me more than seeing a woman own her influence and walk-in power-making her presence palpable. So Woman! Step out-Head high-Heels on-with a little lean in your Crown & WALK-IN YOUR PURPOSE.
